The Vidyapeeth takes great pleasure in publishing the present work called Kali Pajapadadhi and placing it in the hands of the devotees of Supreme Mother Kali as well as the scholars of Tantra. The text of this work is mainly based on manuscript material preserved in the collection of our Institute. The competent editor of this book is of the opinion that this work was composed by someone who lived in the neighborhood of Vindhyachal (district Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh) and had a close relationship with the Vindhyavasini temple there.
The work describes the process of worship of Goddess Kali according to the Vamikara or the so-called 'left school'. The worship of Kali with five Makaras is not only generally accepted but also highly praised in this system. The works related to the worship of the Mother with the five Makaras are kept highly confidential by the Sadhaks and are usually not made public. The rites and rituals of worship are a closely guarded secret that is known and explained only to the initiates. I believe such a cryptic act

प्रस्तुत पुस्तक विद्यापीठ काली पाजापद्धति नामक वर्तमान कृति को प्रकाशित करके और उसे सर्वोच्च माँ काली के भक्तों के साथ-साथ तंत्र के विद्वानों के हाथों में रखने में बहुत प्रसन्नता महसूस करता है। इस कार्य का पाठ मुख्य रूप से हमारे संस्थान के संग्रह में संरक्षित पाण्डुलिपि सामग्री पर आधारित है। इस ग्रंथ के सक्षम संपादक की यह धारणा है कि इस रचना की रचना किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति ने की थी जो विंध्याचल (उत्तर प्रदेश में जिला मिर्जापुर) के पड़ोस में रहता था और वहां के विंध्यवासिनी मंदिर से घनिष्ठ संबंध रखता था।
काम वामिकारा या तथाकथित 'बाएं स्कूल' के अनुसार देवी काली की पूजा की प्रक्रिया का वर्णन करता है। पांच मकरों के साथ काली की पूजा न केवल सामान्य रूप से स्वीकार की जाती है, बल्कि इस प्रणाली में अत्यधिक प्रशंसा भी की जाती है। पांच मकरों के साथ माता की पूजा से संबंधित कार्यों को साधकों द्वारा अत्यधिक गोपनीय रखा जाता है और आमतौर पर सार्वजनिक नहीं किया जाता है। पूजा के संस्कार और अनुष्ठान एक बारीकी से संरक्षित रहस्य है जिसे केवल दीक्षित लोगों को ही जाना और समझाया जाता है। मुझे विश्वास है कि ऐसा गूढ़ कार्य इस प्रकाशन के माध्यम से पहली बार दिन के उजाले को देख रहा हूं।
