He was truly Ajatashatru."
Referring to the great contribution of the late President to the national education, Mr. Giri said, "Who can forget the work done by this great human and ideal teacher to revolutionize the education of our country? He is the service of mankind, generosity. He was a true follower of Gandhiji in patriotism and his life was devoted to the service of the nation. He has left a deep mark on the cultural upliftment of the country." In the end, Mr. Giri said, "He was a pillar of strength for the government and the people. Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Parsi, poor, rich, high and low - Dr. Zakir Hussain was dear to all.

श्री गिरि ने मरहूम राष्ट्रपति के राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा में महान योगदान की चर्चा करते हुए कहा, "हमारे देश की शिक्षा में क्रांति लाने के लिए इस महामानव और आदर्श अध्यापक ने जो काम किया, उसे कौन भूल सकता है ? वह मानव मात्र की सेवा, उदारता और देशभक्ति में गांधीजी के सच्चे अनुयायी थे और उनका जीवन राष्ट्र की सेवा के लिए समर्पित था। देश के सांस्कृतिक उत्थान पर उनकी गहरी छाप पड़ी है। " अन्त में श्री गिरि ने कहा, "वह सरकार और जनता के लिए शक्ति के स्तम्भ थे । हिन्दू, मुसलमान, ईसाई, सिख, पारसी, गरीब, अमीर, ऊंच, नीच - डाक्टर जाकिर हुसैन सभी के प्रिय थे | हमारे मरहूम राष्ट्रपति जाकिर हुसैन साहब ने देश की जो विविध सेवाएं कीं, वे हम सबको सदा प्रेरणा देती रहेंगी ।"
