Sushrutasamhita is the ancient Sanskrit text of Ayurveda and surgery. Sushruta Samhita is one of the three fundamental texts of Ayurveda. In the eighth century, this text was translated into Arabic by the name 'Kitab-e-Susrud'. The Sushruta Samhita has 186 chapters in which 1120 diseases, 700 medicinal plants, 64 procedures based on mineral sources, 57 procedures based on animal sources, and eight types of surgery are mentioned. Its author is Sushruta, who was born in Kashi in the 6th century BC. Sushruta Samhita is an important text of Brihadtrayi. This Samhita is considered to be the vast literature of surgery in Ayurveda literature. Kashiraj Dhanvantari is the preacher of Sushruta Samhita, and his disciple Acharya Sushruta has composed the entire Samhita in the form of a listener.

In this entire book, the main purpose of the treatment of diseases is surgery and school therapy. Acharya Dhanvantari was the first person to bring surgery to earth. Later, Acharya Sushruta wrote the teachings of the Guru in the form of Tantra and wrote a great book, which is illuminated like the Sun in the present world by the name of Sushruta Samhita. Acharya Sushruta was also well versed in Skin Planting systems (Plastic-Surgery). He was an expert in the simple art of removing cataracts in the eyes. The Sushruta Samhita is the first book of Shalytantra.

सुश्रुतसंहिता आयुर्वेद एवं शल्यचिकित्सा का प्राचीन संस्कृत ग्रन्थ है। सुश्रुतसंहिता आयुर्वेद के तीन मूलभूत ग्रन्थों में से एक है। आठवीं शताब्दी में इस ग्रन्थ का अरबी भाषा में 'किताब-ए-सुस्रुद' नाम से अनुवाद हुआ था। सुश्रुतसंहिता में 186 अध्याय हैं जिनमें ११२० रोगों, ७०० औषधीय पौधों, खनिज-स्रोतों पर आधारित ६४ प्रक्रियाओं, जन्तु-स्रोतों पर आधारित ५७ प्रक्रियाओं, तथा आठ प्रकार की शल्य क्रियाओं का उल्लेख है। इसके रचयिता सुश्रुत हैं जो छठी शताब्दी ईसापूर्व काशी में जन्मे थे। सुश्रुतसंहिता बृहद्त्रयी का एक महत्वपूर्ण ग्रन्थ है। यह संहिता आयुर्वेद साहित्य में शल्यतन्त्र की वृहद साहित्य मानी जाती है। सुश्रुतसंहिता के उपदेशक काशिराज धन्वन्तरि हैं, एवं श्रोता रूप में उनके शिष्य आचार्य सुश्रुत सम्पूर्ण संहिता की रचना की है।

इस सम्पूर्ण ग्रंथ में रोगों की शल्यचिकित्सा एवं शालाक्य चिकित्सा ही मुख्य उद्देश्य है। शल्यशास्त्र को आचार्य धन्वन्तरि पृथ्वी पर लाने वाले पहले व्यक्ति थे। बाद में आचार्य सुश्रुत ने गुरू उपदेश को तंत्र रूप में लिपिबद्ध किया, एवं वृहद ग्रन्थ लिखा जो सुश्रुत संहिता के नाम से वर्तमान जगत में रवि की तरह प्रकाशमान है। आचार्य सुश्रुत त्वचा रोपण तन्त्र (Plastic-Surgery) में भी पारंगत थे। आंखों के मोतियाबिन्दु निकालने की सरल कला के विशेषज्ञ थे। सुश्रुत संहिता शल्यतंत्र का आदि ग्रंथ है।

विवरण :-

पृथ्वीराज रासो हिन्दी भाषा में लिखा एक महाकाव्य है जिसमें पृथ्वीराज चौहान के जीवन और चरित्र का वर्णन किया गया है। इसके रचयिता चंदबरदाई पृथ्वीराज के बचपन के मित्र और उनके राजकवि थे और उनकी युद्ध यात्राओं के समय वीर रस की कविताओं से सेना को प्रोत्साहित भी करते थे। ११६५ से ११९२ के बीच पृथ्वीराज चौहान का राज्य अजमेर से दिल्ली तक फैला हुआ था।पृथ्वीराजरासो ढाई हजार पृष्ठों का बहुत बड़ा ग्रंथ है जिसमें ६९ समय (सर्ग या अध्याय) हैं। प्राचीन समय में प्रचलित प्रायः सभी छन्दों का इसमें व्यवहार हुआ है। मुख्य छन्द हैं - कवित्त (छप्पय), दूहा (दोहा), तोमर, त्रोटक, गाहा और आर्या। जैसे कादम्बरी के सम्बन्ध में प्रसिद्ध है कि उसका पिछला भाग बाण भट्ट के पुत्र ने पूरा किया है, वैसे ही पृथ्वीराजरासो के पिछले भाग का भी चंद के पुत्र जल्हण द्वारा पूर्ण किया गया है। रासो के अनुसार जब शहाबुद्दीन गोरी पृथ्वीराज को कैद करके ग़ज़नी ले गया, तब कुछ दिनों पीछे चंद भी वहीं गए। जाते समय कवि ने अपने पुत्र जल्हण के हाथ में रासो की पुस्तक देकर उसे पूर्ण करने का संकेत किया। जल्हण के हाथ में रासो को सौंपे जाने और उसके पूरे किए जाने का उल्लेख रासो में है -

पुस्तक जल्हण हत्थ दै चलि गज्जन नृपकाज।

रघुनाथनचरित हनुमंतकृत भूप भोज उद्धरिय जिमि।

पृथिराजसुजस कवि चंद कृत चंदनंद उद्धरिय तिमि॥
