 'Guru Shobha' is the first verse based on the life of Guru Gobind Singh, whose composition is the unique devotee of Dasam Guru, after the establishment of Khalsa Cult, his court. In this the poet has described his bravery and courage with very reverence and integrity. This brave juice is the masterpiece, because the description of the war-stories of Guru Gobind Singh has been done in more detail. 6 of the 30 chapters are related to war-story, elsewhere war is described. The aim of the poet in the texts is to make this war of Dasam and Shaurya, by describing these warlings. Events are mostly history cool. Although the poet has accepted the incarnation of character-heroes, however, such a miraculous and supernatural incidents were included in it, as the subsequent managers have done. In this composition, there is also a description of the description of Khalsa and Khalsa's qualities, hairstyles, Saber etc.

The commander has got the inspiration of war description ' Has also been depicted.

प्रस्तुत पुस्तक 'गुरु-शोभा' गुरु गोबिन्दसिंह के जीवन पर आधारित प्रथम पद्य बद्ध प्रबन्ध है जिसकी रचना दशम गुरु के अनन्य भक्त, उनके दरबारी कवि सेनापति ने खालसा पंथ की स्थापना के पश्चात् संवत् १९५८ वि० में की। इसमें कवि ने अत्यन्त श्रद्धा एवं निष्ठा भाव से उनके शौर्य और साहस का वर्णन किया है। यह वीर रस प्रधान रचना है, क्योंकि इस में गुरु गोबिन्दसिंह की युद्ध-कथाओं का वर्णन ही अधिक विस्तार से किया गया है। इसके ३० अध्यायों में से ६ युद्ध-कथा से सम्बन्धित हैं, अन्यत्र भी युद्ध का वर्णन हुआ है । ग्रंथ में कवि का उद्देश्य इन युद्ध-कथाओं के वर्णन द्वारा दशम गुरु के इस युद्धा नुराग एवं शौर्य का यशोगान करना ही है। घटनाएं अधिकतर इतिहासना कूल हैं। यद्यपि कवि ने चरित्र-नायक के अवतारत्व को स्वीकार किया है, तथापि उसमें ऐसी चमत्कारपूर्ण और अलौकिक घटनाओं का समावेश नहीं किया गया, जैसा कि परवर्ती प्रबन्धकारों ने किया है। इस रचना में खालसा रचने का विवरण एवं खालसा के गुण, केश, कृपाण आदि रहित मर्यादा का भी वर्णन है ।

सेनापति को युद्ध वर्णन की प्रेरणा 'विचित्र नाटक' से ही मिली है, किन्तु 'विचित्र नाटक' में जहां गुरु गोविन्दसिंह के खालसा की स्थापना के पूर्व के युद्धों का वर्णन हुआ है, वहां इस ग्रंथ में खालसा पंथ की स्थापना के बाद के युद्धों का भी चित्रण किया गया है।

While it refreshed the memory of ancient Sikh history, it also established special footprints for the times to come. To understand this incident at the birth place of Gurdwara in Nankana Sahib, we have to have a rough look at Gurdwara reform movement or Akali movement and the condition before that.

The period of sixty-seventy years after Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji was a very difficult test for the Khalsa. The government was bent on erasing the Khura search of the Khalse. The royal orders were issued in these words 'Nanak Parastan Ra Har Ja Ki Baide Ba Katl Rasaned'.

आम लोग जो सिख इतिहास से अवगत नहीं हैं, कई बार सिख बजुर्गो द्वारा डाले गए पदचिन्हों पर प्रश्न चिन्ह लगा देते हैं। उनके लिए उबलती देग में प्राण त्यागना, रबियों से खोपड़ियां उतरवाना, नीवों में चिने जाना, बंद बंद जुदा करवाना, आरे से जिंदा जी चिर जाना आदि असंभव है । यह अब की दशा नहीं, आज से 57? वर्ष पूर्व भी आम लोग ऐसा ही सोचा करते थे । उस समय एक ऐसा कांड हुआ जिस ने पिछले इतिहास को दोहराया ही नहीं बल्कि दुनियां को हिला कर रख दिया । आओ! उस पर आज विचार करें ।

ननकाणा साहिब सतगुरु नानक देव जी का जन्म स्थान है । इसलिए गुरद्वारों में इस का शिरोमणी स्थान है। ननकाणा साहिब का कांड 19वीं शताब्दी में आरंभ में हुआ। इसने जहां पुरातन सिख इतिहास की याद को ताजा कर दिया वहीं आने वाले समय के लिए भी विशेष पद चिन्ह स्थापित कर दिए । ननकाणा साहिब में गुरद्वारा जन्म स्थान पर हुए इस कांड को समझने के लिए हमें गुरद्वारा सुधार आंदोलन या अकाली आंदोलन व उस से भी पहले की दशा पर एक मोटी सी नजर मारनी होगी ।

श्री गुरु गोबिंद सिंघ जी के पश्चात साठ-सत्तर वर्ष का समय, खालसा के लिए बहुत करड़ी परीक्षा का समय था । हुकूमत खालसे का खुरा खोज मिटा देने पर तुली हुई थी। शाही हुकम इन शब्दों में जारी किये हुए थे 'नानक परस्तां रा हर जा कि बाइदे बा कत्ल रसानेद'।

Timothy Dexter, the author of the following curious and unique production, entitled "A Pickle for the Knowing Ones," which is here re-printed verbatim et spellatim from the original edition, was born in Malden, January 22, 1747. Having served an apprenticeship with a leather dresser, he commenced business in Newburyport shortly after he was one and twenty, and being industrious and economical, he soon found himself in good circumstances. In the year 1770 he married, and receiving a considerable amount of money with his wife, he was thus put in possession of a moderate fortune. In 1776 he had for one of his apprentices the no less eccentric, and afterwards the no less noted Jonathan Plumer, jun., "travelling preacher, physician and poet," as he was accustomed to style himself, and of whom we shall hereafter speak. In addition to his regular business of selling leather breeches, gloves "soutabel for wimen's ware," &c. he engaged in commercial speculations, and in various kinds of business, and was unusually successful. He traded with merchants and speculators in the then Province of Maine, was engaged to some extent in the West India trade. He also purchased a large amount of what were called State securities, which were eventually redeemed at prices far exceeding their original cost. Some of his speculations in whalebone and warming pans are mentioned by himself on page 23 of this work. Thus in various ways he added to his property, and in a few years he became a wealthy man. With wealth came the desire of distinction, and as his vanity was inordinate he spared no expence in obtaining the notoriety he sought.
