In the tradition of Shakti--worship • Shridurgasaptshati has a special place. Whether it is Vasant Navratri or with the worship of Sharadiya Maa Durga, the recitation of her glory contained in Durga Saptashati is revered from house to house. Although it is part of Durgasaptshati Markandeya Purana; But it has made a separate existence from its text for centuries. An 11th century manuscript of this has been found from Nepal. Its mantra department is mentioned in Katyayani Tantra. Its seven hundred mantras have been recited, recited and chanted for centuries for accomplishment and spiritual practice. Not only this, the writing of this book has also been revered for centuries as the worship of Goddess Durga.

The tradition of Durga Saptashati is prevalent all over India. There are many commentaries on it in South India as well. Bharat-Vishrut grammarian Nagesh Bhatt has also written his commentary on this holy book; It has been translated and translated in different languages.

शक्ति- -पूजन • की परम्परा में श्रीदुर्गासप्तशती का अनन्य स्थान है। वासन्त नवरात्र हो या शारदीय माँ दुर्गा की पूजा के साथ दुर्गासप्तशती में निहित उनकी महिमा का पाठ घर घर में श्रद्धापूर्वक होता है। यद्यपि यह दुर्गासप्तशती मार्कण्डेय पुराण का अंश है; किन्तु यह सदियों से अपने आकर ग्रन्थ से पृथक् अस्तित्व बना चुका है। इसकी एक ११वीं शती की पाण्डुलिपि नेपाल से मिली है। कात्यायनी तन्त्र में इसके मन्त्र विभाग का उल्लेख मिलता है। इसके सात सौ मन्त्रों का पारायण, वाचन और जप सदियों से कार्यसिद्धि एवं साधना के लिए होता आया है। इतना ही नहीं, इस ग्रन्थ का लेखन भी देवी दुर्गा की उपासना के रूप में सदियों से प्रतिष्ठित रहा है।

दुर्गासप्तशती की परम्परा सम्पूर्ण भारत में व्याप्त है। दक्षिण भारत में भी इसकी कई टीकाओं की रचना है। भारत - विश्रुत वैयाकरण नागेश भट्ट ने भी इस पवित्र ग्रन्थ पर अपनी टीका लिखी है; विभिन्न भाषाओं में इसके गद्यानुवाद एवं - पद्यानुवाद हुए हैं।

उत्साहो बलवानार्य नास्त्युत्साहात्परं बलम् । सोत्साहस्य त्रिलोकेषु न किञ्चिदपि दुर्लभम् ॥ अर्थात्-" हे आर्य ! उत्साह में बड़ा बल होता है, उत्साह से बढ़कर अन्य कोई बल नहीं है । उत्साही व्यक्ति के लिये संसार में कोई वस्तु दुर्लभ नहीं है।"
